Get Your Texas License to Carry with Confidence and Personal Attention.

At Sanami Defense Academy, our mission is to equip you with the knowledge and confidence you need to responsibly carry a firearm in Texas. Our License to Carry (LTC) class is led by Duff Culp, an NRA-certified pistol and CCW instructor, who brings a passion for firearms education and a commitment to helping each student succeed. We don’t just “get you in and get you out”—we are here to support your entire journey.

While Texas allows permitless carry, getting an LTC provides additional benefits, such as state reciprocity and expanded carry rights. With our expert guidance, you’ll walk away from our course feeling prepared for the responsibility that comes with carrying a firearm.

Why Get an LTC Over Constitutional Carry?

While Texas allows permitless carry, an LTC provides key advantages:

  • State Reciprocity: Your Texas LTC is recognized in many other states, allowing you to carry legally when traveling. Last update the Texas LTC allows carry in 37 states. Refer to the TXDPS link for the most up to date info.
  • Note: You are required to know and follow the laws of each state.
  • Expanded Carry Rights: Certain restricted locations allow LTC holders to carry, while permit less carriers remain prohibited.
  • Clear Legal Protections: An LTC offers better clarity in legal situations involving firearms.
  • Expedited purchasing of firearms: With a Texas License to Carry (LTC), firearm purchases at licensed dealers are expedited. While LTC holders are still subject to a NICS background check, they are not required to wait for the background check to be processed before completing the transaction. This allows for a quicker and more convenient purchase experience, as the license serves as proof of having already undergone a thorough background check during the LTC application process.

For more information on reciprocity, visit the Texas DPS Reciprocity Information page.
